Operation Endeavour : Background

Inside the nondescript bungalow, police officers were met with the stale and acrid smell of urine. In the bedroom, packets and empty cartons covered the beds. Rubbish was strewn across the floor and was piled so high that it reached the window sills.

The previous 10 years had not been good for Timothy Ford, the man who lived alone in the small house in a tidy street in the Northamptonshire town of Kettering. It had started with a second jail sentence for possessing indecent images of children. After his release, he was hit by a bus, left paralysed from the waist down, and confined to a wheelchair. He was clearly struggling to look after himself.

Ford spent most of his time on his computer. That was what the police were looking for when they came knocking with a search warrant, after receiving a tip that he had been online talking to people who may have shared his obsession for children. What they found on the computer in June 2011 led to a dogged hunt which spanned continents, and delved into the darkest recesses of the internet.

It takes a long time to unravel the secrets of a computer, even one where little obvious attempt has been made to hide what was on it. The examination of Ford’s revealed 600 images of children, both stills and videos. Some included adults conducting and orchestrating sexual acts.

Don English, Roger Barton and Laurence (Lawrie) Slade of Bournemouth were among thosel involved. Slade ran a guest house at the Triangle in Bournemouth, with events in the Bournemouth Gardens by the river, a dangerous place to visit at night. Visitors came to stay there from all over the UK and beyond.
Locals such as Ken Pottle MBE and Tony Hardman were frequent visitors, to these cosy gatherings, as were Jimmy Savile and other well known people, who enjoyed the hospitality and events.
The recent news that the orgies at Canford Cliffs are causing concern to residents, who are losing their sleep due to noises made by the participants is nothing new. It’s gone on for years. Ask Mr Pottle who is active in the community including neighbourhood watch.
Talking of ‘watching’, there are some interesting videos and films to watch, if you know the right people, some of who make their own and provide local entertainment for like minded folk in Canford Cliffs and elsewhere.
Many of those involved in the films include students from the various colleges and there are some present and former college and university staff who ‘arrange’ auditions for those who’d like to appear in the films and earn a nice fee, which helps to pay their keep.
Sandra Court who was murdered at Bournemouth many years ago knew all about it and had a list of those involved. So did the other woman who lived at Canford Cliffs and who was murdered by a hit man especially employed to do the job.
Several residents in Bournemouth are very worried about Needleblog’s news and with good reason. Watch these spaces for names and news.
