Lord Steel’s Letter To Private Eye.

Steel and Smith

From the latest Private Eye (issue 1331)

Sir,

In your last but one issue (Eye 1329) – I am sorry I missed your truncated Christmas deadline – the story about Cyril Smith posed a number of reasonable questions which I should like to answer: “In 1974 Steel was chief whip – was he really not told about the Smith police files?” The answer is “no”. “By March 1977 he was leader of the Liberal Party – were the Smith files still not brought to his attention?” The answer again is “no”. You say that in 1979 the Rochdale Alternative Paper (sic) “had a plethora of sworn statements from the victims.” Well if so, you did not include those in your report that year (which was all I ever heard of the matter) and nor did they send these to me.

As to the cover-up conspiracy theory you advance because in February 1974 Prime Minister Heath had suggested a possible coalition, that suggestion was quashed within a day or two and it seems to me therefore highly unlikely that the security services “initiated a vetting process of all Liberal MPs who could be given government jobs”, and anyway Smith would not have been one of those as a relatively new MP.

Equally fanciful was your writer’s suggestion that his knighthood was to keep him quiet during the union of the SDP and the Liberal Party. The reason is more mundane – he had served over 15 years in parliament and it was then commonplace for such MPs to be awarded knighthoods.

I can only repeat that no complaint of any conduct against Cyril Smith MP was ever made to me.

Yours etc

DAVID STEEL,

House of Lords

Very interesting Lord Steel.

But then why is it, despite your complete ignorance of any complaint of any conduct against Cyril Smith, that your press office, when you were leader of the Liberal Party stated in response to the Rochdale Alternative Press and the Private Eye articles in April 1979 that; “It’s not a very friendly gesture, publishing that. All he seems to have done is spank a few bare bottoms”

Tony Hardman, the notorious paedophile from Manchester who moved to Bournemouth and was involved in satanism, sadism and sex, among other things, during his career at the Poole Arts Centre and the Bournemouth International Centre, was a great friend of Cyril Smith, who had great influence with the police and politicians which enabled the cover ups to continue.
The Moors murders were part of the sex ring and there were multiple cover- ups involving more disappearances, murders of children and adults involved in these and other killings.
Ritual sacrifices were said to have taken place and the writer Denis Wheatley researched a lot of material for his books through people involved whom he spoke to.
Wheatley was innocent of any wrongdoing and he simply researched for his writing, but he became a very frightened man towards the end of his life, having made dangerous discoveries, involving a group which claimed to be in contact with dead Satanists, including Crowley. The group held séances at a drama school in North London, presided over by Yat Malmgren, a dance teacher who ran the academy, which was the Drama Centre London. Malmgren had been a priest until he was kicked out of the church.
Tony Hardman of Portarlington Road Bournemouth, was a Jack of all trades, stage managing, acting and working in publicity for events and shows. He bought himself a Lord of the Manor title. Lord Kill-Something-Or-Other. A very appropriate title!
The paedophile network was and is widely spread.

Interesting to read that Gerry McCann’s dad Jack (lab mp for Rochdale) offering to make representations on Smith’s behalf during the police enquiry.

Steel must be one of those loony coincidence theorists.
You know the type. Implying that everything comes about purely by chance, that we are ruled by benevolent leaders and philanthropic businessmen.
Those people are crazy. They even think that 9/11 wasn’t orchestrated by the government and that Bilderbergers meet up to talk about the weather.
    Nutjobs!

    That comment says it all.

He shouldn’t have bothered writing the letter

    Condemning indeed.

There has also been a person I know of who went to the police about Cyril Smith and made a formal complaint against him *when he was an MP* but it was not followed up. What were the reasons for this lack of apparent interest?

And note Steel’s predictable hijacking of the phrase ‘conspiracy theory’ to imply the suggestions are hysterical.

Some news isn’t ‘fancilful’ conspiracy, it is just fact.

How long can the public tolerate these lies from our politicians?
