Alexis Jay Needs To Draft 3 New Panel Members.

There’s an old joke about an English tourist in Ireland who asks one of the locals for directions to Dublin. The Irishman unhelpfully replies: ‘Well sir, if I were you, I wouldn’t start from here’, and it is tempting, looking at how the troubled child abuse inquiry can move forward, to give a similarly non-constructive reply because most of the problems facing inquiry chair Pof Alexis Jay are inherited and she’s not starting from a good place. The IICSA relationship with the media, the primary source of information for  the survivors the child abuse inquiry is attempting to help and who the inquiry needs on board if it is to be successful, is at best non-existent, at worst terrible. Sure, there may have been a few vocal survivors and influential survivor groups that have been kept in the loop but tens, perhaps hundreds, of thousands of survivors across the country are no less invested in the inquiry’s outcome and are no less in need of reassurance that the IICSA is progressing well and the media is the only way reach them and reassure them.

I would suggest that Prof Jay draft three new panel members. The first, an experienced and respected journalist. I’m not going to suggest a anyone in particular but such a person could bring a great deal to the IICSA. Not only a slightly different way of investigating but also an understanding of how the media work. It should be noted that the very successful Hillsborough inquiry had the former ITN and BBC journalist Peter Sissons. Not only would someone like that bring a wealth of insightful experience it would also reassure the media. Nobody would suggest that confidential information should be routinely leaked to the press but it is essential that there is a good relationship between the media and the inquiry and appointing someone like Peter Sissons is a good start.

I’d also recommend appointing a retired police officer to the panel. I’ve suggested before that former head of CEOP Jim Gamble would be an ideal choice, not only would someone like that bring valuable experience, an investigative background, it would also reassure the police who would know that someone on the panel understood what might compromise ongoing investigations. However astonishingly, the former head of  the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre hasn’t even been asked to meet the IICSA.

The third panel member I’d like to see is an archivist. The Hillsborough inquiry had two, the ICSA has none.

The panel that Dame Goddard appointed was lawyer heavy. With Emmerson always influential and powerful and Goddard the chair, four of the six main players were lawyers. I’ve nothing against lawyers, that kind of experience is very valuable but ignoring the experience and investigative skills of other occupations always left the panel unbalanced.

I hope that Prof Alexis Jay will seize this opportunity to make the IICSA inquiry her own and at the same time bring balance to the Inquiry panel . If you were a football manager you wouldn’t pick a team with 11 strikers, so why have a panel with so many lawyers ?

In Ireland, the joke is usually told as regards the Dublin commercial traveller (a sales rep, in modern parlance) who, on finding himself lost in the backroads of Kerry, alights on a country gent and rolls down the window of his Ford Sierra or BMW diesel or whatever and goes: “Do you know the way to Tralee?” and gets the response:

“Well, beggorah, if I was you, shir, I wouldn’t be shtartin from here!”

There is a word boycotting that has entered the lexicon.

It was named after a certain Captain Boycott.

If survivors boycott this inquiry, I’m not going to criticise them, is all I’d say!

Hopefully all those party to the original posting will have been alerted to what became an important series of urgent questions and will comment if they dissent from my conclusions I The Home Secretary side stepped dozens of questions on the grounds that the inquiry was independent.
2 She neatly avoided answering any questions about the knowledge and role of her predecessor and of the former Prime Minister, 3 She failed my credibility meter by a wide margin. 4 She needs to spend some of her private time reading how the present mess has been reached and not rely on civil service briefings who have their own position to protect. 5 The Home Affairs spokesman for the SNP was told off by the Speaker for suggesting the Home secretary was being economical in what she was saying which I thought mild to how Dennis Skinner was likely to have said something about the natural bodily function of the male bovine, had he chosen to intervene and most significantly 6 all the fine words about getting to the truth and completing the inquiry by 2020 is politically delusional and irresponsible,

The new statement by Professor Jay in advance of her appearance before the Home Affairs Committee is encouraging is encouraging start. The approach of giving renewed priority to what more can be done is something I and others have recommended given the failure of the 1997 and 2001 Blair administration plans and policies to work and to begin as soon as practical to begin the task of changing cultures and recognising the extent of our individual and collective failure so far. Any serious attempt to understand what happened and why will appreciate the narrowness of separating one aspect of the abuse of children from others and where separating children removing children from their mothers unless it can be shown evidentially to be the only solution and that taking mother and child/children into care has failed.

I have previously expressed surprise that the Inquiry opened its public face with preliminary hearings without first hearing from those with knowledge of the law and the broad history of what has happened over the period being covered. It is also good that there is to be consultations of what to do about the 13 of the potentially 25 pubic hearings that have been announced.
Hopefully the Home Affairs Committee will concentrate on what is best for pat and future victims and not see it has an opportunity to flex political muscle against Prime Minister and new Home Secretary or in the interests of pursuing an ambition to become the new chair of the Committee.

“I have previously expressed surprise that the Inquiry opened its public face with preliminary hearings without first hearing from those with knowledge of the law and the broad history of what has happened over the period being covered.”

I agree and indeed the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry in the Irish Republic may be worth a look at in this regard. They started with a ‘context’ phase (mainly economists, independent experts and so on) and the ‘Nexus’ phase was second (testimony from the actual parties involved, bankers, former bankers and property developers).

“Hopefully the Home Affairs Committee will concentrate on what is best for pat and future victims and not see it has an opportunity to flex political muscle against Prime Minister and new Home Secretary or in the interests of pursuing an ambition to become the new chair of the Committee.”

Would have thought the current acting chair Tim Loughton is the obvious candidate for the new chairmanship of that important Committee.

Yvette Cooper was always the most likely candidate as former Shadow Home Secretary but Caroline Flint obtained a substantial number of votes

I recommended viewing the two BBC Simon Reeve programmes in which he attempted to cover the whole of Ireland explaining the history and present situation and which required a journey from the south to the north and then from the south to the north to ensure he provided a full perspective, the moral being that there is a lot of ground to cover and looking at it from different perspectives is appropriate to obtain a rounded and full picture. The clip of U2 performing reminds of meeting their tribute band lost on the hill where I live looking for their B and B hotel and going to their concert some years back and to my most recent experience of attending a performance of the musical on the life of Kinks Sunny Afternoon. In both instance the raw sound of pure rock is extraordinary, deafening and visceral and in both instances deliberate, calculated and with purpose,
but then listen to the ballads and the words say what needs to be said about the event or issue in question. It is important therefore to first experience the noise and then pay attention to what is being said, or not.

      • tdf

I really don’t care all that much for tribute bands, and care still less for musicals, but Brian Eno once offended the purist classical musicians by stating that he viewed rock as ultimately a higher art form than classical music, as, in classical, Eno claimed, the notes are, of necessity, discrete and linear, whereas rock offers the opportunity to go ‘between’ the linear notes (“beneath the noise, below the din” as it were).

I am not enough of a musicologist to assess whether he was talking bilge or not, but your assessment of the power of pure rock is one that rings true to me, is all I can say.

        • artmanjosephgrech

On one hand I thought Norma from the ROH sublime from start to finish whereas the three 90 mins acts of Tristan Unde Isolde from the Met very hard going although I sort of got it in the end which is another way saying there is rock and there is rock having earlier watched an hour’s set from Chrissie Hyndes on BBC 6 music live. and who had one of the children of Kinks Ray Davies (while deciding what I really thought and felt about King Lear in the context having viewed two RSC productions in 1991 and 1994 from the upper tiers of the Theatre Royal in Newcastle to a large screen close up relay on Thursday evening.
For a moment I confused Eno with ELO which I immediately new was not right so looked him up and was surprised that he started with Roxy Music and Sunderland born Bryan Ferry. A good break from a succession of emails from some of the 4000 other suspended members of the Labour Party being given chapter and verse of their sins over the present weekend

      • tdf

^ It goes without saying, of course, that the Kinks are among the greatest of rock bands. I think that the likes of Bono would openly admit that if it wasn’t for the Kinks, he’d have become a fourth rate university tutor at best.

Getting back to the task in hand I see Justice Goddard has referred the Times articles to day to her UK lawyers which is just as well I not write about the suggestion in the article that she declared any focus on the head of state and team as off limits which goes against the Telegraph article. which quotes an Inquiry spokesperson as pointing out that in the role of head of state there is control of all the main institutions of state under investigation, one of many aspect which Professor Jay and team need to clarify

@gojam – thank you for retweeting Phil Lafferty, from a series of tweets including this: “It is a scary practice in raising questions against people who have been a ‘champion’ for the #LGBT community but I am raising that lid”.
What can I say – I SO empathize with what he must be feeling.
You are a truly courageous man, Mr Lafferty, you have my respect and my sincerest best wishes!
The tragic and ultimately shameful romanticizing of “intergenerational relationships” within post-WW2 Gay culture has been a very dicey problem to confront from inside the community, for those of us who have been making such efforts, but “going public” about it has just seemed…unthinkable. In my twenties, (so long ago!), I quietly surveyed the elders of my Gay Community about their own experiences, and ever since I have striven to understand how some of them acquired the belief that Gay youth being introduced to the community through an intergenerational relationship was “normal, for us”. It’s NOT normal, of course, it’s a dysfunctional and harmful cycle of predatory behaviour, hypocritically enabled and encouraged by the laws under which all Gay persons were sexual criminals by definition.

And now, in honor of Mr Lafferty, lets deal with Jack Fritscher and his “Popular Witchcraft” – first edition 1972, reissued 2004.
Jack Fritscher – author, academic, former seminarian & “exorcist”, founder of the Gay Leathermen and S&M subculture’s premiere journal “Drummer”, Gay liberation activist, Gay history archivist, etc. – published “Popular Witchcraft Straight from the Witch’s Mouth” in 1972. In a chapter titled: “Sex and Witchcraft”, Fritscher recounts a supposed Satanic black mass alleged to have taken place in Manhattan in 1969. Fritscher’s account describes this “Satanic ritual” as essentially a Gay S&M orgy dressed up with legendary Black Mass elements, including the ritualistic flogging of a naked 20 year old gay youth whose body is used for an altar and who has a eucharist wafer inserted into him before being sodomized by all of the participants. (The youth is not described to have been sacrificed-murdered, thankfully).
Well, there you go. Is this the smoking gun – an eyewitness account of a “real” satanic black mass? An expose about a secret underground of sadistic homosexual satanists, from a man who seems almost over-qualified to be “in the know” about such a thing if it really existed? I don’t think it is.
Fritscher doesn’t actually state that he was in attendance at this event, and in fact he provides no other references to support the assertion that it happened. But isn’t Fritscher a credible source? Would he make up such a story and try to portray it as fact, if it was really just a fantasy?

There are disconcerting clues. Fritscher states that this black mass orgy occurred on 6/9/69 (sixty-nine, sixty-nine – get it?), and also states that on that date – June 9, 1969, mass gay orgy celebrations took place “around the world”, just because the date resembled numeric code for mutual fallatio. He makes this claim repeatedly, in his writings and interviews over several decades, about mass gay orgies taking place, everywhere, on June 9, 1969. However, Fritscher is THE ONLY person who has publicly noted this supposed event. He’s not just the only social-cultural historian to claim this 1969 orgy day took place, he’s also the only GAY historian who has ever noted this momentous Gay history event. And he seems obsessed with repeating the story, almost as though it might be a favorite, personal, sexual fantasy for him. Which, I have concluded, must be the truth of the matter. More disturbing to me, however, is the implication that the gay satanic s&m youth gang-bang story is what really excites Fritscher about his 6/9/69 fantasy.

No, Fritscher is not a reliable source on the subjects of; modern witchcraft, satanism, or occult-esque sexual rituals & practices. Much of what he states in the book “Popular Witchcraft” is factually inaccurate, cultural mythology rather than historic reality, and deeply personal, obviously wishful, interpretations which are unique to him. For example, Fritscher claims that homosexuality “is a religion”, and one of great antiquity to boot. That’s an interesting fantasy, but it’s nonsense of course. A more detailed analysis of the many falsehoods in “Popular Witchcraft” can be found on dailyxtra.com, under “the-myth-and-mystery-popular-witchcraft”

Fritscher is an old-school Gay liberation activist and social “radical”, one of those still romanticizing the defiantly socially transgressive elements of modern Gay culture, more interested in living life as a cultural outlaw than the integration of Gay persons into the larger society and it’s social norms.
But to a large extent those socially transgressive elements have been coping strategies – sometime creative & heroic, often pathetic and self-destructive – ways of dealing with (or running away from) the traumas inherent to suffering homophobic bullying & violence, sexual exploitation and abuse, growing up a social and cultural “freak” and reject. The proof of this reality is being played out today, because the current generation of Gay youth have suffered less of this trauma and had more social & institutional-professional support than any before them, and subsequently Fritscher’s beloved S&M Leathermen subculture has been drying up, declining and disappearing throughout North America for at least ten years now. Google “leathermen declining” and see them fading away.

    • David

      What are you on?

    • David

No, it is called ‘fashion’, and social acceptance. There never was an S&M Leathermen subculture, most of those men, during the day were bankers, doctors, hairdressers, nurses, theatre directors, actors, writers, etc. Only at night did they take off their suits, and wear leather. The so-called S&M was playacting and still goes on just as much, with different costumes, and just as many young and old involved.

    • tdf

      @Justin Sanity

I can’t say I’m familiar with Mr Fritscher or his researches and theories, but I did come across an interesting website recently called “The Rialto Report” which is essentially a socio-cultural history of the early adult movies industry in the US.

I will not link directly to it, but I will mention in passing that while mainly their focus is on the US history of straight p**n, they did put up a feature on a then popular gay movie from the late 1970s. When they tried to research what happened to the actors, they found that virtually all were long since dead. The actors did not fall victim to any murderous satanic ritual, but rather to the more prosaic, but in many ways equally tragic fate of the early victims of the Acquired Immune Deficiency virus.

Michael Mansfield QC talks about a State within a State (SDS) secret services relating to the Child Sexual Abuse Inquiry on Richie Allen show.

    • artmanjosephgrech

Congratulations on having found this conversation and provided the opportunity for it to reach a wider audience and hope it will be listened to by all those with an interest in the Inquiry, and in some way respect more important at this time what he had to say about some of the wider issues.

I have previously referred to what the former Butler to Princess Diana had to say in relation to a conversation with the head of state and I have commented that the Head of State is the one person with a comprehensive knowledge as the vehicle of passing knowledge from one Prime Minister to another.
I have also drawn attention to the importance of the separate Inquiry which looks at under cover work
what I have never been able to establish the existence of the kind of formal unit which Michael mentioned although it seemed highly likely based on matters about which I have had direct experience over several decades and where it should be evident there us no need now for the government to support such a unit directly given the out sourcing possible through International security service providers. However there us also the evidence of the government being open about establishing the civilian and then a military unit to tackle aspects what is presently possible via internet communication and which has had the ability to bypass existing surveillance and monitoring powers
The mentioning of the role of Whips in Parliament and the National Theatre is again showing its play This House which is at the Garrick. I have mentioned that Margaret Thatcher thought I was Director of Social Services for Cleveland when the Deputy Chief Whip of the Labour Party at the time enabled me to sit with the Peers usually sit when they listen in on debates in Commons when the House was considering the Butler Sloss report.
Michael is absolutely right about the implications of the Brexit vote as again I indicated in my notes on political engagement and eh also made the point about the European development and in the USA when I anticipate Trump to win even if the traditional voting fixing rampant in the USA by both main parties fails. It should ne be forgotten that the democrats who attempt to reverse slavery emancipation in the south and the Republicans were for the Union north before something of a role reversal went on although the extent of corruption and influence of internet crime organisations tends to match that of the CIA. this is the context to understand what has and continues to happen in relation to Inquiry and in fact the opposition to Jeremy Beecham within his own Party and the boldness of Mrs May of throwing the gauntlet down in such a public way to those with the Tory Party as much as in relation to Labour. The appearance is never the whole reality as the recent Nobel Prize awards wins from the UK have revealed further in relation to the nature and behaviour of matter under different circumstances.

  12. North Down

Lenny Harper and/or Graham Power would make excellent members of the Inquiry.

Harper and Power were removed from the investigation of child abuse/murder in Jersey because they refused to cooperate with a cover-up, where children’s bones magically transformed into pieces of ceramic pottery.

Harper and Power clearly have the integrity and honesty needed for members of the Committee.

That is not strictly true they can say as long as they do not disclose confidential information although in some instances in general it is better for a cover story to be issued in order to prevent adversely affecting the interests and welfare of third parties

Yes fair point Colin, but also has the unintended effect of agglomerating an impression of state secrecy (sometimes state secrecy is in place for good reasons and not just for protecting security interests of the state). Complicated.

Times editorial supportive of inquiry continuing. Evidently they do not agree with the views of their star columnist Aaronovitch who says it should be wound up entirely.

Excellent could not agree more I will mention that Mark Thomas Williams and his associates have proved a top notch investigative team and that he is also ex police. Nick Davies is also not retired and his book Flat earth News is a must read…. The problems is that many good investigative journalist are associated with institutions such as the BBC that participated in cover up which is the problem which led to the appointment of a Judge from the Commonwealth. The criticism of the present Chairperson because she was Chief Inspector in Scotland by some Victim survivor groups is understandable but misplaced and needs to be measured against the hostility about her involvement because her report into Rotherham. This also underlines the confusion victim survivors have about what any Inquiry can do, It dies not go after alleged perpetrators who are alive that is the job of the police the prosecution and the courts and it cannot change anything but make recommendations and influence. Parliament and the courts cannot make the changes required until they change themselves. These points need to be made and keep being made. Government and Parliament having set up the inquiry cannot wash their hands and wait for five and ten years before they start sorting themselves now. The truth is they do not want to do it hence ganging up on Jeremy Corbyn who does. Colin Smart

“Nick Davies is also not retired and his book Flat earth News is a must read…. ”

Coincidentally, he announced his retirement yesterday on Twitter! He says he is going travelling. According to wiki, he is 63, so close to the standard retirement age. A lot of his journalist friends tweeted to him saying they hope he does not retire completely.

      • North Down

        Nick Davies would be great.

      • artmanjosephgrech

63 is a good age to go travelling especially with a note book in hand so can look forward to a book or two before natural aging takes its toll. Nick also struck me as sane whereas to involve oneself in an indefinite inquiry, under the closest of scrutiny and bound to disappoint whatever is said appears to be something which only the exceptionally brave are now likely to embrace

Rarely does anyone mention the ritualistic/occultist element within the child sexual abuse envelope. I understand that this is difficult to understand for many but is crucial to this endeavour of truth seeking. This is the elephant in the room, however improbable it seems.

    • tdf

^ The ritualistic/occultist element may well be more significant than many think.

Look into an odd child murder in an ordinary suburb of Dublin, Ireland in 1973 and the media cover up afterwards. The case was eventually resurrected by Irish media only in relatively recent years, but many people from the district remember the rumours that were flying around.

      http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056419835

^ It seems odd that the teenager convicted of this murder was found to have books in his possession of an occult nature that were hardly usual at that time in Ireland, unanswered questions here.

And the still unsolved child murder in Northern Ireland in the same year:

Thank you for your supportive comments. Ritual/occult practice is very much the rasion d’etre for child sexual abuse/murder for those at the top of the abuser’s pile. The psychic world I am very familiar with and I have substantive experience addressing some of the issues arising in practice.

      • tdf

I think that type of abuse, occult or SRA abuse or whatever, exists but is rare.

The Hampstead SRA allegations were debunked as an obvious hoax, as the Spiked Online article Oz posted makes clear (I do not always agree with Spiked, mind you).

      • tdf

Re-reading my above comments, they could be read as contradicting themselves, so I had best explain further what my point of view is!

To clarify, my view is that MOST SRA allegations are false or highly exaggerated, but I don’t agree with the view held by a lot of the mainstream media and indeed probably the broader public that it doesn’t exist at all.

@tdf – Regarding the tragic murder of little John Horgan.
“The author and TV documentary producer, Mr Malone, said: “It was a Satanist murder. When he was discovered he was in a cruciform tied to the rafters….”

“It was a Satanist murder” is a presumption, not a documentable fact. Some persons have made very subjective interpretations about the “meaning” of the crime scene, apparently on the basis of a few suggestive elements, but provide neither references nor the reasoning through which they made this interpretation.
There isn’t anything necessarily “satanic” about tying the unfortunate child’s corpse to the ceiling positioned like Jesus on a traditional crucifix, for example. There’s no ‘tradition’ of satanists doing this to their victims, in the legendary accounts of medieval “black masses”. Claims that the boy was hung above some type of homemade “altar” littered with Eucharist wafers is more suggestive, but the traditional purpose of stolen wafers lies in desecrating them. Just having them, there, isn’t “satanic”. If some had been inserted into specific bodily cavities of the victim, THAT could only be interpreted one way. Apparently the boy was bludgeoned to death, in a different location, which again has zero legendary satanic implications.

Ultimately, if the murderer himself had stated that his intention was to perform a “satanic sacrifice”, that would provide a definitive interpretation for the “meaning” of what he had done. That may indeed have been his intention, but he was just a teenager and if “No one knew, or would even have dreamed of suspecting, that the teenager was a satanist” is true, then his “satanism” could only have been a deeply personal, delusional invention. We called this type self-professed satanist criminals “teenage dabblers”. They may be inspired by things they’ve read or watched or listened to, but their satanism is largely derived from their own imaginations and they wouldn’t be accepted by or get along with organized satanic traditions communities.

What are the “occult” book titles that the murderer is alleged to have possessed, which you believe would have been “rare in Ireland at that time”, by the way?

      • Justin Sanity

        @ tdf, again –
The Brian McDermott murder may be officially unsolved, but again there isn’t anything definitively occult or satanic about that case, and that interpretation isn’t officially sanctioned. I believe the original investigators favored this one:
“Brian’s brother William was 16 at the time of his disappearance and he was considered a suspect and questioned in 1976 and again in 2004 William denies the allegations and is estranged from the rest of his family. He admits confessing in 1976, but says that the confession was coerced…” – Wikipedia

        • Hi JS, long time no see, hope you’re well.

The brother was identified a while back by my source as the likely suspect – he joined the army soon after. Which is why I’ve not written about it for 2/3 years

      • tdf

What are the “occult” book titles that the murderer is alleged to have possessed, which you believe would have been “rare in Ireland at that time”, by the way?

From the book, “The Boy in the Attic”

Why was there a media and establishment cover-up at the time, by the way?

      • tdf

        @Justin Sanity

The book by Mr Malone lacks an index, but my recollection from when I read it was there was a passing reference to Bale having owned books of an occult nature.

On further consideration, I must concede that I cannot honestly state with certainty that such titles would have been difficult to acquire in Ireland at that time – I am simply not old enough to remember. I am basing that opinion on the fact that for example, in 1973, divorce and homosexuality were still illegal in Ireland (and were not decriminalised until two decades later) and the ‘special place’ of the Catholic Church in the Irish constitution was not removed until 1977.

I can vaguely recall that the large O’Connell street Dublin branch of the Eason’s bookstore chain had an occult section in the late 1980s, but that was considerably later on.

    • Justin Sanity

      Anon said;
“Rarely does anyone mention the ritualistic/occultist element within the child sexual abuse envelope” – perhaps because that idea is a long-ago debunked red herring, despite the endless reams of meaningless jibber-jabber, false narratives and paranoid fantasies about it, to be found online.

“I understand that this is difficult to understand for many but is crucial to this endeavour of truth seeking” – not at all ‘difficult to understand’, actually, just a labyrinthine distraction that can become a serious obstacle to perceiving reality and ‘the truth’ for those who get stuck in this rabbit-hole.

“Ritual/occult practice is very much the rasion d’etre for child sexual abuse/murder for those at the top of the abuser’s pile” – there is no hierarchical “abuser’s pile” for anyone to be at the top of, “ritual/occult practices” could be obliquely related to some tiny fragment of all crimes against children but not enough to even rate its own category of offences, and perverse sexual or control/dominance impulses remain the true rasion d’etre for virtually all CSA committed by anyone of any social station.

Hi Gojam! I’m always lurking here, still, even if I don’t have much to say.

It seems that they know the game is up. I am all for looking forward, adopting best practice etc. but what about the historical record and redress. That is the proper and usual way of conducting business.
Common decency, straightforward questions and the willingness to answer because ultimately that is easier.

@ Ananymous MI6 are trying to discredit her. They know she cannot say why she really left.

        • artmanjosephgrech

remember the standard option to being sacked is to resign and take the blame and public relations people are employed to advise on acceptable explanations. Most people are too busy dealing with the next political crisis the next news story. Remember the Labour Financial secretary who left the note saying there is no money and which the Tory Party trots out from time to time, especially at Party conferences, with everyone forgetting it was a Tory Chancellor who first thought up the wheeze when vacating the office, although whether it was a Sir Humphrey or a mischievous suggestion from a political adviser is a good question. How many occasion did Teresa May make reference to the need for transparency in Parliamentary statements back in 2014? Who persuaded he to got for the statutory inquiry. Who briefed Justice Goddard what to look for and what not?( Given the work which had already been done on the key issues and questions)? Remember the great art of politics is to appear to be doing one things while doing the opposite and every politician faces the choice on the door of telling truth or saying what the particular voter.would like to hear.

Racist remarks claims ‘false’, says Dame Lowell Goddard
        http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37653003
“The specific allegations of racially derogatory remarks are totally false. I categorically never said that ‘Britain has so many paedophiles because it has so many Asian men’.
“I never expressed shock at the number of ethnic people in Britain. I have never held the views and opinions attributed to me, nor is the language in these allegations vocabulary which I either used or would consider using.”
The Home Office said it had been “made aware of concerns about the professionalism and competence of Justice Goddard” on 29 July
At least she got home safely…

@ Ananymous Which institution were you in for five years? Is that one of the reasons you are obsessed with the views of right-wing newspapers?

      • Anonymous

        David
I do not recognise your right/left label. I believe that my thoughts and views are considered and thoughtful based on my own experience and those of others shared with me.
I am happy to tell you that I was a family doctor who then worked in the the GP Out of Hours Service.
My preoccupation with wrong doing is based on personal principle and a professional duty of care.
        I hope this helps.
        Regards

      • David

@Anonymous Does being a family doctor explain your sarcasm!
So you are ‘educated’, but education does not imply intelligence, and I have only seen you regurgitating information from right wing newspapers.
Intelligence means having ‘original thought’, and so far I have not seen any of that in your writings?
The actions of Justice Goddard go back to Cambridge in the 1950s, MI6, and coverups which only the legal team of the investigation know about. Your ‘information’, and that of those who agree with you is very limited to say the least.
