HASC: Evidence Given By DPP Alison Saunders [21/10/15]

Alison Saunders giving evidence to the Home Affairs Select Committee 21 Oct 2015.

DPP Alison Saunders – “From the complainants account herself, we [CPS] didn’t think there was enough on that alone for it to go ahead and there would not be sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect [for conviction]”

Alison Saunders also makes clear that there was nothing in DCI Paul Settle’s original decision that was contrary to the ACPO/CPS guidance on the investigation of rape cases, which was referred to in Tom Watson’s letter to the DPP.

  1. DPP Alison Saunders – From the complainants account herself, we [CPS] didn’t think there was enough on that alone for it to go ahead and there would not be sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect [for conviction]……..MAY I ASK ALISON SAUNDERS IF GROOMING AND 4 VICTIMS COME FORWARD ,,IS THAT ENOUGH TO PROCEED WITH ANY FORM OF INVESTIGATION??????

I have previously explained the police and prosecution must process allegations in terms of the law at the time the event took place and in this respect the public interest test has changed.

Everyone also needs to appreciate that the Goddard inquiry was set up in the present form in order to deal with allegations which the police and prosecution have been unable to process. In addition to the Party Political strategy and tactics this orchestrated campaign is designed to discourage Justice Goddard inquiry from holding an public hearing centering on Brittan and the Dickins dossier.

    • WELL THEY HAVE NOT GOT THEIR OWN WAY HAVE THEY…IT HAS STARTED AND ON SECOND STAGE.THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND NOBODY WILL INTERFEAR ,NOT EVEN POLITICS.
GODDARD IS JUST GOING OVER INCOMPETENCE WORK OF FORCES, FROM 1960/70/80/90/ PRESSURE FROM MP………HAVE INFECTED ALL THEM INVESTIGATIONS THAT TOOK PLACE IN DATES STATED ABOVE..
