Statement By Lord Janner Victim

The following is a statement made by one of the 25 individuals who claimed to have been assaulted in Leicestershire between the 1960s and 1980s and whose claims were investigated by Leicestershire’s Police Operation Enamel enquiry.

The man has expressly requested that Leicestershire Police make his statement publicly available.

In describing today’s decision as “a disgrace”, he said:

“This animal is still being protected because [of his status] and isn’t able to stand trial. They say that it’s not in the public interest, but isn’t it in the public interest to know what his victims have gone through at the hands of this man?

“If he was an everyday person with a normal life and job, justice would [have] been served, but as it stands we victims are just being pushed to the ground again and walked over.

“Let someone feel the pain and suffering that I’ve endured and still going to endure for the rest of my life. It’s not a case of being found guilty or going to prison – it’s about being believed after so long being told that we were lying. Justice needs to be served.”

I understand the anger, what I dont understand is why we survivors dont stand together and demand justice, surely they couldnt lock thousands of us up

Many thanks to Piers, who posted the following article (4.40 pm today-on the ‘Leicestershire Police Statement’ blog)

It is quite clear that the CPS did have the power to bring Janner to justice despite his dementia. They chose not to do so.

Man found guilty of abusing six under-age girls
By This is Devon | Posted: May 15, 2010

A DEVON man has been found guilty of abusing six under-age girls in a trial held in his absence at Exeter Crown Court.
Jurors yesterday unanimously found that Michael Collingwood, now 69, of Tedburn St Mary, near Exeter, committed 23 sex offences, including raping one girl.
Judge Paul Darlow instructed the jury to formally enter not guilty pleas to the other six sex offence allegations. Jurors heard the trial in Collingwood’s absence after being told he suffers from severe dementia.
The jury forewoman, giving her verdicts, was required to say she found Collingwood “did the act charged” rather than being “guilty”, due to him not standing trial.
They were told, after the verdict, that he is currently in hospital under a Mental Health Act order, and his future will be decided at a further hearing.
He repeatedly abused six under-age girls in the 1980s and 1990s.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Wendy Fuller said after the verdict: “I want to pay credit to the immense bravery shown by the victims in coming to court and reliving the most traumatic experience of their childhood and beyond.
“I sincerely hope the result at court today will help them to somehow repair the considerable damage this depraved individual has caused.”
The court heard police investigated allegations involving four of the girls, in the 1990s, but the case was not brought to court.
A fresh investigation was launched last year after allegations were brought to light involving two other girls.
Collingwood called the rape victim a “good liar”, during that investigation.

Just in time for the General Election – what a coincidence!

If it comes up in the Leaders Debate tonight, then with any luck it will lead to all of the parties emptying out their dark cupboards where they hold all of the dirty laundry on their opponents and we’ll have Paedogeddon.

when Janner used his position in the Commons to claim there was no evidence against him the DPP said to day he was lying and he should have been prosecuted

Janner got away with being prosecuted for child sex abuse in 1991 (when he was named by Frank Beck during his trial). It seems that 24 years later he has finally escaped justice:

“The father-of-three was accused of child abuse in a court case in 1991 but was not prosecuted and was given all-party support in the House of Commons when he described his ordeal and said there was “not a shred of truth” in the claims against him.

Lord Janner was named by Frank Beck, a former head of three children’s homes in Leicestershire, who was given five life terms after 200 children complained that they had been abused by him over 13 years to 1986.

A 30-year-old man also gave evidence that he had been abused by Lord Janner when he was in care aged 13. A letter was shown to the jury that was allegedly sent from the MP to the boy.”

Janner was lauded and applauded in the HoC when he returned to his seat.

Petition started here: https://www.change.org/p/crown-prosecution-services-review-the-decision-not-to-prosecute-greville-janner?recruiter=278458801&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_facebook_responsive&utm_term=mob-xs-google-custom_msg I hope you and your followers will sign.

It is NOT my petition GoJam but I have decided to promote it.

651 signatures were gathered in 3 hours on 17th April. There are so many people angry about the DPP decision.
