Harvey Proctor speaking on Radio 4 ‘Today’ about the raid on his home, which took place 4 March 2015. ‘The home of former Conservative MP Harvey Proctor has been searched by police investigating historical allegations of child abuse. The BBC understands police from Operation Midland arrived at the house on the estate of Belvoir Castle, in Leicestershire, on Wednesday. The investigation is looking at claims establishment figures abused boys.
Mr Proctor, 68, denied being part of any “rent-boy ring” or attending sex parties with prominent figures. He told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme he would like to be interviewed by police “at the earliest opportunity”.

iirc at least one investor stated he never expected the shop to thrive or that he would get his cash back.
this has most of the background to the shop but is not the actual news report i was thinking of which might have been a slightly different version of the bonsor comment ,however this has plenty of details.
He was very effective in persuading senior members of his party to contributre funds to invest in his shirt retailing business after he left Parliament.

Of course Harvey Proctor’s home being searched means very little, much in the same way it did for Sir Cliff, not enough evidence for an arrest for either. Expect these news stories to die away very quickly.
