Every time I hear a BBC program reporting/promoting the failer of another Tax funded institution, I always wonder what else they are hiding about their own sordid past.

I’d like to think that such organisations don’t act with one mind – that there are good and bad journalists and police officers, that most are good and that when the good ones act in the right way, there is no longer a culture of disbelief & cover-up that ensure they are silenced. I’d also like to think that any attempt by a senior manager/officer to delay or stop an investigation would be called out immediately and that that person would be themselves placed under suspicion. That’s what I’d like to think.

Gojam, What have you got against #freemelanieshaw that leads you to delete references to that particular hashtag?

    • I think the issues are separate. The hashtag refers to a criminal case against Melanie Shaw, the post regards abuse in Nottingham which MS is a witness. A friend of mine went to the first court case where she was found guilty. I don’t think it helps to conflate these two issues.

But if she has been framed by the Powers That Be because she wouldn’t do as she was told and refused to shut up and keep stum about Beechwood, then isn’t that relevant?

      • You’re assuming that she’s been framed. The person I know went to the trial. She was not framed.
