Rolf Harris charged with 13 counts in total.
Nine counts of indecent assault , Six offences of indecent assault relating to a girl aged between 15 and 16 from 1980 to 1981 and three offences of indecent assault relating to a girl aged 14, in 1986.
Also, four counts of making indecent images of a child from March/July last year
The Crown Prosecution Service has today authorised police to charge Rolf Harris with nine counts of indecent assault, contrary to section 14 of the Sexual Offences Act 1956 and four counts of making indecent images of a child contrary to section 1 of the Protection of Children Act 1978.
Alison Saunders, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London, said:
“We have carefully considered the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police Service as part of Operation Yewtree in relation to Rolf Harris, who was initially arrested on 29 November 2012 over allegations of sexual offences. A file of evidence was passed to the CPS on 12 August 2013.
“Having completed our review, we have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Mr Harris to be charged with nine counts of indecent assault and four of making indecent images of a child. The alleged indecent assaults date from 1980 to 1986 and relate to two complainants aged 14 and 15 at the time of the alleged offending.”
The charges are:
• Six offences of indecent assault relating to a girl aged between 15 and 16 from 1980 to 1981.
• Three offences of indecent assault relating to a girl aged 14, in 1986.
“Mr Harris will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 23 September 2013.
“May I remind all concerned that Mr Harris has a right to a fair trial. It is very important that nothing is said, or reported, which could prejudice that trial. For these reasons, it would be inappropriate for me to comment further.”

I don’t agree with the “kids soon forgot about it” comment however please remember innocent people are getting caught up in all of this. As someone falsely accused I know first hand how the current hysteria is a gift to someone who is evil and twisted enough to go to police with a story knowing it is all lies but it be followed up regardless over a period of many months destroying whole families. A case can end up in court with no other corroboration than the complainants statement, it is one word against another nothing more. Innocent until proven guilty what a joke, your kids schools are informed and you have social workers crawling all over you all on the basis of lies by an evil toe rag. I know I am living it. I realise that the majority of cases are genuine but please don’t forget the falsely accused. It could happen to anyone of you.

More than likely he squeezed the odd boob or two 30 years ago which was normal in the entertainment business then and still is today.As he is a professional artist his child images might be innocent portrayals so all in all this looks like it could be a load of nonsense at the public expense.Instead of investigating OAP entertainers this Operation Yewtree outfit might be more gainfully employed delving into the current activities of their own particularly as a West Country police force has recently suspended 14 of its officers over allegations of sexual assaults against members of the public.
We need to get our priorities right as much of this smacks of a police overreaction in the light of the Savile saga.
Surely ”old” celebrities (who were YOUNG when they started their crimes) AND politicians, cops, ”royalty” and Joe Pervy Bloggs down the road should ALL be brought to justice for destroying people’s lives?! And that is exactly what sexual violence against children does..IT DESTROYS CHILDREN’S LIVES..so many apologists for child-attackers out there..mmm, I wonder why ??!!!
“making images” usually refers to the practice of saving illegal pictures to your hard drive, not physically making the image.

The whole saga is getting ridiculous, it will soon be illegal to photograph your own child in the bath like everyone has. It will be frowned upon to pick up a child of a family friend, for fear of her one day saying you touched her. In the 80s, teenagers threw themselves at older men, has anyone said anything about Elvis yet? All pop stars in the 70s and 80s had numerous flings…all the girls would have said they were over 18. Rolf is innocent, unless is proven otherwise, and his name should never have been released. There are too many liars jumping on the band wagon hoping to make something out of a distant memory, and destroying a life in the meantime. If he is found innocent, lets bring out the names of the people who have caused the grief and hold them to trial. Lets put their names on the front page of the paper and see how they cope. This media circus is out of control.

to be fair I don’t think he claimed to break it – but he was the first big name to do so. And yes I do think leveson played its role – as does the ridiculous libel laws.IMO they were waiting until he was arrested again. I wrote to the BBC to clarify why they chose not to report it in the first instance – they said they didn’t comment on legal matters – I heavily presume they got a letter from Harbottle and Lewis too

Rolf Harris visited our high school back in the 80’s. At the time I was gutted I never got picked to meet him. We would have all been about 14 then.
Now I’m wondering how many school tours he did??

Generally, it means taking a photograph but theoretically it could mean painting a picture though I’d be very surprised if that were the case.

If painting naked little boys was illegal you would have to remove half the paintings from the national gallery – putti, cupids, and so on.
