A former BBC News reporter has appeared in court charged with indecently assaulting two boys aged under 14.
Clifford Luton, 87, of Ashley Road, Poole, also faces 30 counts of possessing indecent images of children.
He is accused of assaulting one of the boys on three occasions between 1971 and 1974 and one attack on the other alleged victim between 1980 and 1981.
The case was adjourned at Bournemouth Crown Court until 16 September. Mr Luton was released on bail.
Clifford Luton appeared in the BBC’s Imagine programme about Don McCullin on 2 July (1 hour 11 mins). A report from Beirut in 1976.

certainly is thanks for mentioning.
It’s worth mentioning that before the BBC he worked for the Daily Mail.
He lives in Poole? Also a very good area for boats. One of Edward Heath favourite marinas for taking young boys for their last trips in he’s yacht morning cloud.
Well on the basis of previous convictions he’s likely to be sentenced to a couple of weeks, on account of 1) his extreme age and 2) the average sentence available ‘at the time of the offense’. That’s of course if it ever comes to court! :(
Oh dear Oh dear
When the stuart hall story broke on a news thread some one posted “whatever happened to clifford luton?” ..strange…
Strange say the least!
that’s a dodgy looking wig hes got there.
Very Worrying how many more Arrests will there be and Equally
how many Adequate Convictions
