A States of Jersey police spokesman said the allegation was made by a former Haut de la Garenne resident against Sir Jimmy in 2008, with the assault alleged to have occurred in the mid 1970s.
A police spokesman said: “During the course of the States of Jersey Police’s historic abuse investigation a complaint of indecent assault said to have occurred during the 1970s at the former children’s home Haut de la Garenne was received.
“The allegation was investigated but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.”

i read the obituary of this man stokes in my daily newspaper last week,
very far from a racist, but i do agre that he could have done more for those trapped in the gulags after his release. The obituary said he would morse code tap on the iron pipe that ran through the back of all cells, he brought the punishment on himself, but he was never racist ?

i just read those hateful anti-christian heterophobic comments by someone hiding under the name callie. My father was in the security services with T stokes and said he was the fairest men he ever met, we met his freind the rabbi louis jacobs at a christening, he said stokes was badly scarred after being sent to moscow to bring back documents, he was betrayed and the soviets thew petrol on him and set him alight and now rarely apeared in public.

No, I always suspected there was something seriously wrong with him. My father was convinced he was a ‘nonce’ and so were many others.
Taking allegations lifted from the likes of Stokes is just silly, sorry but I think a brief peruse of the rest of his output should be enough to show you that his stuff is deranged and nasty. He is the SOLE source for much of what he writes, there is no back up, no proof. Just like his stuff about Churchill, which frankly sounds to me like Stokes himself gets off on writing this stuff. It’s offensive, gratuitous muck with added Jew-baiting.
If you don’t believe me, try sourcing ANY of the allegations about Churchill from anyone other than Stokes. I could not find one written word – it’s straight from his own imagination.
I’m really fed up of people telling me that so-and-so Halfwit should be taken seriously because they spotted Savile was a paedo ages ago – it took no special powers FGS! It’s like Wilfred Bramble – I have known about that for 40 years, but if I had started a blog to tell everyone would I now have my ravings about, for example, Prince Charles, taken seriously on the back of it?

Callie, I’m not suggesting that T Stokes is reputable or not and I’d certainly not support any anti-semitic views he has. That said this allegation and narrative has been online for a long time, long before even any suggestion in the public that Savile was a paedo.
Back then Callie, you would (probably did) believe that Savile was OK and anyone who suggested otherwise was a conspiracy nut.
What I will contend is that a significant part of that which I’ve quoted has since been proved to be the case. So, it seems quite reasonable to make enquiries along those lines.
T-Stokes didn’t reveal anything. These rumours were around for years and the rumours Savile was a paedo were around since the 60’s. T-Stokes is an homophobe and anti-semite, you could almost feel his disappointment when it was revealed the majority of people Savile abused were girls.
