Huhne Pleads Guilty And Faces Jail.

Former Energy Secretary Chris Huhne has pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice. Even though this was because he asked his wife to take responsibility for a driving offence (speeding), this is actually a very serious criminal offence.

He is likely to face a prison sentence and it seems almost certain that he’ll have to resign his Eastleigh parliamentary seat.

So let’s look at the result in 2010 in that constituency.

It is early days but I would expect to see, Labour win a by-election with UKIP second, and the Conservatives third.

The good Lib Dem result and poor Labour result in Eastleigh has a great deal to do with tactical voting.

I would expect the by-election to take place on Thursday 2 May 2013, the same day as the Hampshire County Council Elections unless that is too far away.

Prison sentance my foot’there is no way he will be sent to prison just for that he will have someone high up to sort this out as is always the case.

But what if Farage decides to stand ?

  3. If Chris Huhne is guilty of perverting the course of justice then so too are our judges and barristers and police officers and leglslators. What Chris Huhne is guilty of is showing contempt for the contemptible (our judges and barristers and police officers and legislators). It is no great sin to have someone else take your speeding points; it is, however, an immense sin to dis the pompous twats who enforce our laws.

    • Agreed, but for the ‘no great sin’ bit. I don’t like people who speed and don’t give a toss for pedestrians and others (especially kids), and it’s a typically low, cowardly thing for an MP, a legislator, to skive out of something to save his own career skin. Ha ha- quail egg on face.
