Gay Dog On Death Row

Beckham’s Transfer ? Cameron’s Libya trip ?

Nah! Here’s a gay dog story instead.

Gay Dog, to be euthanised

A dog is set to be put to death in Tennessee today after his owner abandoned him because he thought he was gay.

The pitbull-type hound is currently languishing in an overcrowded animal shelter in Jackson but is due to be put this afternoon down unless a new owner can be found at the last minute.

According to the owner of the shelter, the dog’s master noticed him ‘hunched over’ another male dog, which led him to assume he was gay.

In the dog world this is seen as dominance – perhaps several humans have thought the same

Seems logical then ……that any human male seen “hunching over” another male without permission, should be put to death quickly too?

Wrong place wrong time. Had the pooch exhibited these tendencies at a certain guest house in days gone by he may well have had a queue of well heeled and very respectable potential owners to choose from, although given the choice our canine friend would probably prefer the fate that awaits him.

What a sad state of affairs! Says more about the owner and his need to be seen as a hetero alpha male. Methinks he doth protest too much. Animals often display this attitude. They do it to show dominance or just because it is another animal in the area. My rabbits do it, and I brought an entire cat into my 4 cat household, and the neutered Tom immediately mounted him. Once he was castrated, the Tom lost interest in him. The neuter was just showing that he was the boss. Nothing to do with hormones.

What a stupid owner. As others have stated his dog’s behaviour is one of dominance, which I presume is exactly the type of behaviour wanted from his dog in the first place

  6. Homosexual behaviour in the animal world has been extensively documented, it’s as old as life on earth, and in any given population of mammals, may have served the purpose of keeping the numbers down in order to balance species survival with resources.
Inadequate men quite often feel the need to own big or aggressive dogs- a sad reflection on their poor self-esteem…A typically pathetic story from the Daily Heil.

Correction, the Shelter, not the owner, named him

Another example of where the more intelligent creature was at the wrong end of the lead! Hopefully he has been neutered and I expect the Shelter will do the same to the dog, as there are far too many in rescues here and the US.

Before us Brits get too smug, have a look at the Many Tears Rescue website. They are trying to raise a petition to outlaw the RSPCA using Bolt guns to put down dogs in the UK. Using a stick to poke around in the hole if it doesn’t kill the dog immediately! Now this makes me want to go full Rafa!
