    Vicarious Liability

Now, I’m not a lawyer, but….. Lets imagine a child gets in touch with say, Child Line, (or any other organisation) and say’s, “emm, Jimmy Savile touched me” and no one does anything about it, the body who was contacted (or it’s Chief Executive) would be Vicariously Liable

    Discuss….

No they wouldn’t as they acted in good faith, reporting the matter to police on behalf of the child

What’s annoying is these women saying ” Jimmy Saville shagged me when I was 14 ” old enough to know better and waiting decades until his death to mention it

    • Jonny

No, the point is, if by the ‘acts or omissions’ of the employee informed, justice is not done (or the Police not informed), the Chief Executive would be vicariously liable. The CE or owner of any business is always where the buck stops, these things can not be delegated.

  3. Well, I suppose you’re being ironic, Alan?

No, I’m serious. I was a police detective and the offenders that go free due to this kind of thing is annoying. How can we protect them or seek justice for them if they don’t speak

It’s just not good enough to complain 30 years after the event and after the ” pea ” is dead
